We’re excited to partner with our friends from Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation for a morning of birding at Snyder Heritage Farm! A 154-acre natural area just north of the Des Moines metro, Snyder Heritage Farm hosts a diversity of ecosystems including grassland, oak savanna, woodland, and wetlands. Perhaps not surprisingly, the area is home to diversity of birds as well! Join us for a fun morning looking for grassland birds and prairie wildflowers at this gem of an area in central Iowa. This trip is free to attend but advance registration is required.
Snyder Heritage Farm was donated to Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation by Al and Gladys Snyder, a couple who held a deep love for the land and wished to preserve the integrity of their farm and protect it from urban sprawl.
Iowa Young Birders welcomes everyone to the outdoors regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, orientation, religion, creed, national origin, or disability status. Our events can accommodate wheelchairs, vision and hearing impairments, and other health conditions. For questions, or to request accommodations for an upcoming event, please send us a message or email. As an IAYB event, this field trip is open to young birders and their parents/guardians/caretakers.
