The Sandhill Crane is a magnificent bird that nests at various locations throughout Iowa each year. Sweet Marsh near Sumner is one of those locations, hosting one of the largest nesting populations of Sandhill Cranes in the state. Join us as we partner with Bremer County Conservation Board to assist with their annual Sandhill Crane Count at Sweet Marsh. Once finished counting cranes, we will explore this premier wetland area in search for other birds! The official count starts at 5:30 AM, but we will be joining at 7:00 AM. If you'd like to join the counters earlier your welcome to do so. This trip is free but advanced registration is required.
